John Galliano krijgt onderscheiding

John Galliano of te Mister Creative bij Christian Dior heeft op Nieuwjaardag de Franse 'Legion of Honour' ontvangen.

Napoleon Bonaparte stond in 1802 aan de wieg van deze Franse onderscheiding. Met deze grote prijs wil Frankrijk telkens weer ook buitenlandse talenten omarmen. De topontwerper John Galliano werd ook al drie keer in eigenland uitgeroepen tot British Designer of the Year.

Andere bekende modenamen als Sonia Rykiel, Azzedine Alaia, Yves Saint Laurent en Armani gingen Galliano al voor met de 'Legion of Honour'.

Wij zijn alvast benieuwd naar de komende jaren en hopen uiteraard stiekem dat onze Belgische modetalenten ooit het prestigieuze rijtje van gelauwerden zullen aanvullen...
