PFW: blooming beauties by Eugene Soulemain

Door Tiany op 04/10/11

Wella Professional's hair whizzkid Eugene Soulemain strikes again with an amazing hair creation for Japanese designer Issey Miyake. As heard backstage, it was kind of a challenge because Issey decided to send his models up the runway with some petal-like head creations designed by none the less than our very own Christophe Coppens (thumbs up Belgians).

So yes, I was completely boggled by the way Eugene's team turned models into even prettier flowers by sculpting hair locks into the organic shape of the bulb of a tulip. Each and every little hair was brushed away with this hairy little brush and a little Wella Professionals Stay Styled Finishing Spray and layers of colored spray were added to emphasize the feel of a a real life vibrant flower. The result was quite extraordinary and a total catwalk exciter.

Even more Belgian talent behind the scenes as Wella hairstylist Loredana Danese, winner of the 'Young Talent Wella Trend Vision Award' was invited to work along with Eugene's team... excitement all over as it was her very first time attending such a huge fashion event and working with the very talented Mister Soulemain...

Me, myself and I -little fly on the wall- managed to take some snaps of the action backstage, one thing that is not very obvious to the eye of my camera is the boiling degree of hotness due to a combination of extreme Indian Summer conditions, blowdryers in overdrive and a tent positioned right underneath the lovely sun... But hey, we survived and are very glad to be able to look back on one more outrageous fashion experience...

Obviously not the type of hairstyling you would want to try at home, but the technique of brushing each and every little hair away is definitely something that can be used to finish your own hair-do creations to perfection. And as it is a trend to show more of your pretty face it might just come in very handy next season... Good luckos!
